Who we are

Polarworld is a small, independent publishing company and consultancy that specialises in producing exquisite, highly-illustrated books about all aspects of the polar regions.

We produce bespoke, limited edition and specialist books both as Polarworld titles and as branded volumes for our clients; we are writers and consultants for film-makers who want to tap into our intimate and wide-ranging knowledge of these wilderness areas; we organise events such as photography and art exhibitions, motivational workshops, and talks about the role of the polar regions in understanding climate change; and we act as consultants on polar and maritime history, culture and travel.

Headlines

Allan Gill
To our great sadness we have learned that Allan Gill, an extraordinary polar traveller and good friend passed away in the early hours of 14 January 2010. He was among the most accomplished polar men of his age, yet was perhaps the most modest. He will be dearly missed.

'Polar Event of the Year'
On 29 October, Polarworld, in association with the Old Royal Naval College and the Canadian High Commission, held a very special polar event in Greenwich. A moving ceremony for the rededication of the Franklin Monument and re-internment of the remains of one of Sir John Franklin's crew, Lieutenant Henry Le Vesconte, was followed by a gala reception in the Painted Hall. New Titles
Face to Face: Polar Portraits has been launched as a second edition hardback in association with Conway and Anova Books. This title is now available from all good bookshops and signed copies are also available from this site.
